Outpatient Treatment Located in Taylorsville, Utah

Alpine Centers is located in Taylorsville — 5689 S Redwood Rd, Suite 30. Not “serving” Taylorsville from somewhere else. This is where our clinicians work, where group meets, and where you would come for your first appointment.

That distinction matters more than it sounds. Many treatment listings you will find for Taylorsville are referral services or call centers that route you to a facility an hour away, or to whichever program is paying for the lead. When you call (801) 268-1715, you reach our office on Redwood Road, and the person who answers can tell you what our schedule actually looks like this week.

We have been providing outpatient treatment here for more than 20 years, and we have been Joint Commission (JCAHO) accredited since 2016.

Getting an Appointment This Week

In most cases we can see you the same day or the next day you call.

We keep saying this because the alternative is what most people run into: you finally make the call, and you are told the intake coordinator will get back to you in a week. The window when someone is ready to start does not stay open that long. We have built our schedule around that fact.

If you are calling about someone else — a son, a partner, a parent — you can call without them. We will talk through what we can and cannot do, what it typically costs, and how to have the conversation with them. There is no charge for that call and no obligation.

What We Treat

We work with adults dealing with substance use, mental health conditions, or both at once. Co-occurring cases are the norm here rather than the exception, and our program is built to treat both at the same time rather than sending you to two separate places.

Substance use: alcohol, opioids (including heroin and fentanyl), prescription medications, stimulants, and kratom.

Mental health: depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD and trauma, and the difficulties that tend to come with either — sleep problems, anger, isolation, and trouble holding a job or a relationship together.

We also work with people other programs have turned down. If you have been through treatment before and it did not hold, that usually is not a character problem. More often it means the level of care did not match what was actually going on — someone received outpatient therapy when they needed medication support, or medication with no therapy behind it. Part of what we do in the first assessment is figure out which it was.

Our Programs

  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) — Multiple structured sessions per week combining group and individual therapy, built so you can keep working or stay in school. This is the core of what we do.
  • Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) — Suboxone and Sublocade for opioid use disorder, prescribed and monitored by our medical team on site. Not a referral somewhere else: our Medical Director, Timothy S Grange, MD, and our providers manage it in house, coordinated with your therapy.
  • Outpatient detox — Medically supervised withdrawal management for people who do not need or do not want an inpatient stay.
  • Psychiatric medication management — Evaluation and ongoing management for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and co-occurring conditions.
  • Individual, group, and family therapy — Our clinicians use CBT, DBT, and EMDR, matched to your diagnosis and history rather than run as a generic curriculum.
  • Continuing care — Ongoing support after the structured phase ends, because the months after treatment are when most people are most exposed.

Why Being in One Building Matters

Here is the practical version of “integrated care”: your therapist, your prescriber, and your MAT provider are down the hall from each other. They talk. When your medication is adjusted, your therapist knows. When something comes up in group that suggests the medication is not working, the prescriber hears about it that week rather than at your next quarterly appointment.

Compare that to the common arrangement — therapy at one office, psychiatry at a second, MAT at a third, none of whom have your records. The gaps in that setup are where people fall through.

The other thing worth knowing: most of our clinicians have been here five years or more. Some fifteen. Staff turnover is one of the real problems in behavioral health, and it means the person you build trust with is often gone in six months. That mostly does not happen here.

Insurance and Cost

We are in-network with Medicaid and all major commercial plans, including SelectHealth, BlueCross BlueShield, United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, TRICARE, and PEHP.

We verify your benefits before your first appointment, so you know what you owe before you start rather than finding out in a bill six weeks later. The verification call takes about ten minutes and there is no obligation to enroll.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to stop working to do treatment here?

No. Outpatient care is built around that. Our IOP schedule is designed so people can keep a job or stay in school. Tell us your schedule at intake and we will place you in a group that fits it.

Can I come to Alpine Centers if I live outside Taylorsville?

Yes. We are in Taylorsville and most of our patients drive in from around the valley — West Valley City, Salt Lake City, Murray, West Jordan, and Kearns. There is no residency requirement.

Do you take Medicaid?

Yes. We are in-network with Utah Medicaid, along with the major commercial plans.

What happens at the first appointment?

A comprehensive assessment — your history, current use, mental health symptoms, past treatment, and what you want out of this. It ends with a recommended level of care and a plan. It is a conversation, not a test.

I am calling about my son, not myself. Can you help?

Yes, and it is a call we take often. We will talk through the options and what to expect. Alpine Centers was founded by a mother who could not find a program that would take her 15-year-old son — that is the reason we answer these calls.

What if I have been through treatment before and it did not work?

That is a common starting point here, not a disqualifier. Usually it means the level of care did not match the problem. Figuring out what you actually needed is part of the assessment.
